Magenta’s mortgage assets are comprised primarily of 1st mortgages secured by owner occupied homes in some of Canada’s strongest, most recession proof real estate markets such as Ottawa and Kingston, Ontario. We do not lend against higher risk commercial properties and have only minimal exposure to carefully chosen residential second mortgages. We do not lend in more cyclical real estate markets where plunging, often unpredictable real estate values can decimate mortgage investor returns.
Magenta shares have a fixed par value equivalent to issue price. Unlike a bond or other investments, your investment does not fluctuate in value in response to interest rate changes and other market forces. Annual dividends may be received in cash or re-invested. Magenta shareholders who consistently re-invested their dividends have seen every dollar originally invested grow to $6.02.
